Vice President for Academic Affairs
Edgewood University seeks a highly collaborative, innovative, and experienced academic leader to serve as its next Vice President for Academic Affairs. This chief academic officer will report directly to the President and serve on the President’s cabinet, playing a key role in guiding the institution’s strategic direction, aligned with its Catholic and Dominican mission and values. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of navigating the complexities of higher education through clear academic vision, curricular innovation, creative partnerships, and strong engagement with faculty.

Located in Madison, Wisconsin, the University is a private liberal arts institution grounded in Dominican Catholic values. Edgewood offers a wide range of academic programs, including 40+ undergraduate majors, 40+ minors, and 25+ postgraduate degrees. Degrees span undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels, ensuring comprehensive educational pathways for all students. Academic Programs at Edgewood University are organized into three colleges: The College of Arts and Sciences, The College of Business, Communications, and Technology and The Henry Predolin College of Health Sciences. Edgewood enrolls 1,042 full-time undergraduate students, 194 part-time undergraduate students, and 1,233 graduate students. Small class sizes and highly experienced faculty are hallmarks of an Edgewood education, with a 15:1 student/faculty ratio, 81 percent of undergraduate classes with fewer than 20 students, and an average class size of 13. Edgewood University employs 85 full-time faculty and 192 part-time faculty. 73 percent of full-time faculty have a Ph.D. or terminal degree.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and is responsible for oversight of educational policies and the curriculum, academic programs, academic support services, scholarly activity, academic and related budget and personnel. The VPAA is a member of the President’s Cabinet and reports directly to the University President. All academic personnel report directly or indirectly to the VPAA. The VPAA works with the President of the University and members of the President’s Cabinet to lead the University toward fulfillment of its mission while living and promoting the values of Edgewood University’s sponsor, the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa. The VPAA is responsible for administrative oversight and leadership of Academic Affairs, Study Abroad & International Relations, Library, Registrar, and Online Learning.
