Ergon Inc. is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our Tax team. The Tax Accountant supports various tax functions, including Sales & Use Tax, Motor Fuel Tax, Property Tax, and Business Licensing, by reconciling accounts, filing returns, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works in Sales & Use Tax, Motor Fuel Tax, Property Tax, and Business License.
- Reconcile tax accounts
- File Returns
- Assist in the customer tax setup in the billing process
- Review customer files to ensure Ergon complies with all states and exemptions
- Conduct tax research for multiple states
- Submit and request exemption certificates
- Handle customer tax adjustments
- Assist company accountants with tax rules and regulations
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent
- Two years of prior accounting experience preferred
