Staff Accountant
$32 - $34 an hour
Staff Accountant
A growing organization in the energy industry is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and the month-end close process. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in developing a strong foundation across a wide range of accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly financial statement reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and complete monthly general ledger reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and performing variance analysis
- Maintain organized and well-documented workpapers supporting reconciliations
- Identify discrepancies and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues promptly
- Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and providing documentation
- Assist with improving accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Contribute to full-cycle accounting activities and support the broader accounting team as needed
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 13 years of accounting experience preferred
- Experience with month-end close required
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and lookups)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
$65-70K Salaried (Upon Conversion)
