Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

This position involves preparing and maintaining accounting records, verifying financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The role includes cost accounting, month-end reporting, and general accounting practices. Successful candidates will complete entries in QuickBooks accurately and will be responsible for accounts receivable, with occasional assistance in accounts payable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records
• Verify financial transactions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP
• Conduct cost accounting and month-end reporting
• Perform general accounting practices
• Complete entries in QuickBooks accurately
• Manage accounts receivable and assist with accounts payable
• Research discrepancies in numbers and implement corrections
• Maintain and improve internal financial controls
• Assist with invoicing and purchasing
• Submit purchase orders
• Assist with administrative duties such as answering the phone and guest check-in
• Handle filing tasks

Essential Skills

• Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
• Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Strong skills in invoicing and general ledger management
• Knowledge of month-end reporting
• 3 years of accounting experience preferred

Work Environment

The work environment is a small office with fewer than five people, where team members cover for each other. Working hours are typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
