The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to perform varied accounting functions. Managing month end closing processes, recording journal entries, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, financial analysis preparation, perform joint venture accounting, retail accounting, and fixed asset accounting.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Communicates regular status updates.
Performs work with adherence to the global standards, protocols, and policies.
Supports the execution of internal operational improvement strategies.
Builds relationships with Operations contacts.
Ensures quality output.
Ensures the production of accurate and timely financial information in accordance with GAAP and LVS’ accounting policies.
Adhere to Company policies regarding closing process, account reconciliation procedures and standards.
Perform day-to-day accounting activities for your assigned areas.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations, analysis, journal entries, etc. in connection with the closing process.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain, prepare and record transactions to the General Ledger.
Work closely with Accounting Managers to handle keying and posting of accounting transactions for general ledger maintenance.
Assist other accountants in preparing trend analysis and other special analysis.
Generate ad hoc accounting reports as needed.
Assists in managing the P&L for the operational group(s) assigned.
Safety is an essential function of this job.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
21 years of age.
Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar discipline is required.
CPA or equivalent preferred.
5 years of Finance or Accounting experience within industry or public accounting firm is required.
Must have experience with financial analysis.
Possess strong PC skills such as Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of mainframe financial systems (AS 400, Infinium and or Crystal software a plus) and be familiar with database software such as Cognos.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
