Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor supports the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process efficiency. This role provides day-to-day leadership and direction to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. The supervisor works closely with the Accounting Operations Manager to implement system improvements, streamline workflows, and maintain strong internal controls across core accounting functions.

Position Duties

  • Staff Supervision & Leadership
    Supervises accounting staff responsible for routine accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
    Provides guidance and support to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    Ensures timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
    Assists in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    Monitors compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
    Supports internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Process Improvement & System Support
    Collaborates with the Accounting Operations Manager to identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
    Assists in system upgrades, testing, and integration projects led by the Accounting Operations Manager.
    Maintains and updates accounting procedures and documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    Coordinates with accounts payable, payroll, and other finance functions to ensure data integrity and operational alignment.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
