We are a high-growth, global, private-equity-backed software company with an active acquisition strategy. As we scale, we are building a best-in-class accounting leadership team grounded in execution, ownership, and operational discipline.
This role is an ideal opportunity for professionals with a strong, traditional accounting background who are looking to expand their exposure to ERP systems, system integrations, and project-based work—while continuing to deepen their core accounting expertise. In a high-growth, PE-backed software environment with an active acquisition strategy, you’ll operate at the center of accounting operations and execution. You’ll partner on month-end close end-to-end, build scalable and repeatable processes, and partner closely with business systems and cross-functional teams. You’ll also gain hands-on experience supporting ERP integrations and acquisition onboarding, making this a great fit for accountants who enjoy operational ownership, structured execution, and growing their scope alongside a scaling organization
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Accounting Operations (Primary)
- Own day-to-day execution of the month-end close for assigned areas.
- Prepare and review journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely, well-documented resolution of reconciling items.
- Perform month-over-month variance analysis and clearly communicate key drivers to leadership.
- Enforce the close calendar while maintaining strong documentation and internal control discipline.
- Act as a primary point of contact for audit support, including PBCs, schedules, and explanations.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Take ownership of close-related processes and deliverables—this role is expected to run things, not wait for direction.
- Improve consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of reconciliations and reporting.
- Identify process gaps, propose pragmatic solutions, and implement repeatable improvements.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, RevOps, and Business Sys to resolve data issues and improve reporting reliability.
- Help mature the accounting function as the company scales through acquisitions.
Systems & Data
- Work confidently in ERP and finance systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred).
- Partner with teams using Salesforce and related systems to ensure accurate financial inputs.
- Leverage technology—including AI tools where appropriate—to accelerate analysis and documentation, while maintaining strong controls and validation.
AI & Technology Expectations
-
Use AI tools every day to increase speed and quality across recurring accounting work (e.g., variance explanations, reconciliation support, documentation, issue triage, process checklists).
-
Apply appropriate controls: AI can draft/summarize/spot anomalies, but you validate outputs against source-of-truth systems and maintain audit-ready support.
M&A Integration Support (Secondary / Trained)
- Support onboarding of acquired businesses into standard close and reconciliation processes.
- Assist with trial balance mapping, process standardization, and close readiness using established templates.
- Participate in integration project meetings and help track accounting deliverables.
- Over time, develop confidence operating within a repeatable integration playbook.
People Leadership
- Manage and develop at least one direct report.
- Set priorities, review work for quality and completeness, and coach on close discipline.
- Build accountability, predictability, and pride of ownership within the team.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience (Staff → Senior → Manager track).
- Strong grounding in core accounting and month-end close mechanics:
- Journal entries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Flux / variance analysis
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently in fast-paced environments.
- High attention to detail with strong judgment on when and how to escalate issues.
- Comfortable working in ERP systems and learning new tools quickly.
- Demonstrated comfort using AI tools in a professional environment (e.g., drafting and refining narratives, accelerating analysis, building repeatable checklists/workflows).
- Advanced Excel skills.
Added Bonus:
- CPA and/or Master’s in Accounting.
- NetSuite experience.
- Exposure to Salesforce or revenue systems.
- Experience working in PE-backed, SaaS, or acquisitive environments.
- Prior experience supporting process standardization, system transitions, or integrations (formal M&A experience not required).
