About the Role

The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting operations of the electrical wholesale distribution company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls. This role leads the accounting team in managing general ledger activities, budgeting processes, and financial audits while driving operational efficiency in financial practices. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in aligning financial processes with the company’s strategic goals and supporting leadership with timely and reliable financial insights.

What You'll Do:

• Financial Reporting and AnalysisOversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Accounting OperationsOversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, fixed assets, insurance, taxes and payroll. Implement processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Internal Controls and Compliance
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with audits, including external audits and internal reviews, to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Process Improvement and Technology Integration
• Drive automation and efficiency in accounting processes through the implementation of advanced financial the accounting team effectively utilizes ERP systems and other financial tools.
• Team Leadership and Development
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accuracy, and continuous training programs to enhance skills and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
• Collaboration with Leadership
• Partner with the CFO and executive team to align accounting operations with corporate strategies.
• Support cross-departmental initiatives, such as procurement cost controls and inventory valuation strategies.
• Planning and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations, including sales and use tax filings and work with external advisors on complex tax issues.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You'll Bring

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Knowledge:Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance with the wholesale distribution industry and inventory accounting practices.
• Skills:Five to eight years experience, some Public Accounting experience strongly preferredProficiency in financial systems, including ERP software (Infor EPM)Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving leadership and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams. Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
• Abilities:Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced to develop and implement effective accounting policies and to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing business verbal and written communication interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation organizational skills and attention to time management skills with a proven ability to meet analytical and problem-solving demonstrated management and leadership to adapt to the needs of the organization and to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.10% - 15% travel may be required Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal oversightThis role requires two (2) days in the Clark, NJ office each week.
