The Accounting Manager oversees our day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the VP of Finance. This includes handling all AP/AR transactions, overseeing the employee expense reimbursement process, managing all audits, as well as other accounting tasks. The Accounting Manager oversees the Asset Servicing team, ensuring accurate and timely performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the daily accounting tasks including the daily reconciliation and ensuring accurate accounting entries in alignment with financial policies, AP/AR tasks, invoicing, treasury management and cash movement.
- Leads the day-to-day functions of the Asset Servicing team ensuring the team’s performance of timely and accurately funding business owners. (Treasury Management)
- Supports the VP of Finance in budgeting, financial planning, budget-to-actual reporting, and other finance accountabilities to ensure operational excellence. Assist in month-end and year-end closings, ensuring timely completion of accounting and finance processes.
- Manage insurance policies, including renewals and compliance documentation. Oversee the preparation for audits, working closely with internal and external auditors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in finance operations.
Education and Functional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field with preference given to experience in the financial technology or lending industry.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role, showing career progression in the resume. Preference given for familiarity with both US and Canadian financial regulations and experience with financial modeling.
- At least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team
- Proficient in accounting software and financial reporting tools; QuickBooks experience preferred. Preference given to experience with QuickBooks.
- Prefer a CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Asset Servicing Team Performance Score: Ensure the Asset Servicing team achieves its KPIs, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in treasury management.
- Reconciliation Accuracy: Maintain zero discrepancies in daily and monthly reconciliations.
- Budget Adherence: Support the VP of Finance in managing budget-to-actual variances within acceptable ranges.
- Compliance and Audit Readiness: Ensure all required.
