There are occasional synchronous meetings required of adjunct faculty./ppStarting Salary: $36 hourly (approximate)./ppCSFS continually seeks subject matter experts to join our cadre of adjunct faculty. The following are the duties, responsibilities, skills and qualifications that Alliant requires from applicants for an Adjunct professor position:/ppDuties Responsibilities:/pulliFacilitating Classroom and Distance/Distributed Learning. Course and syllabus preparation./liliClass curriculum coordination and planning./liliAssessment and evaluation of learners./liliMentoring and advising of students./liliHolding office hours and meeting with students./liliResearch/scholarship mentoring and supervision/liliPossible course development opportunities available/li/ulpRequired Skills:/pulliProficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. The ability to work independently and be self-motivated./liliHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms./liliThe ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines. The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide students toward task completion./liliMust demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with students and Alliant employees, as well as various academic departments./liliCulturally competent and ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse people. Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support student success./liliAbility to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments/li/ulpMinimum Requirements for the PhD program in Psychology, Public Policy and Law:/ppEducation: A Doctorate or a terminal degree in a relevant field/ppExperience: Appropriate experience in the areas(s) of specialization and expertise./ppOther Desirable Qualifications:/pulliExperience teaching at the doctoral level/liliExperience teaching statistics and/or research methods to doctoral students/liliExperience serving as a dissertation chair or committee member/liliExperience teaching criminal or civil law or legal research to graduate students/liliEducation or research in media psychology or the effects of media consumption/liliEducation and/or experience in Behavioral Threat Assessment Management/liliEducation and/or experience in Forensic Victimology/liliEducation and/or experience in Forensic Linguistics/liliEducation and/or experience in the area of conflict resolution, crisis management, or peace studies/li/ulpBackground Check Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check (including criminal, prior employment and education verification).
