Description
The School of Social Work in the College of Health Sciences at Jackson State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track track faculty position in the MSW program at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor.

This on-campus (non-remote) position seeks a candidate who will make a significant contribution to the instructional quality and academic mission of the program.

Examples of Duties

  • Teach 9 credit hours per academic semester through in-person and/or online instruction.
  • Advise and mentor graduate students.
  • Maintain regular on-campus office hours for student support.
  • Develop and sustain an active agenda of research, scholarship, and grantsmanship.
  • Provide service to the university, college, school, profession and community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the School's mission.
Typical Qualifications
  • Earned Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Earned Doctorate in Social Work (PhD or DSW) or a doctoral degree in a closely related field. Eligibility for LMSW or LCSW licensure.
  • Minimum of two years post-MSW full-time professional practice experience.
  • Demonstrated prior teaching experience, preferably in both in-person and online modalities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of funded research, scholarly publications, and/or grantsmanship consistent with the expectations of a tenure-track c appointment.
