The Treasury Specialist is responsible for managing the hospital’s cash, liquidity, banking relationships, and debt obligations while providing functional oversight of cash disbursements executed by Accounts Payable and Payroll. This role ensures sufficient liquidity to support hospital operations, maintains strong internal controls, and supports compliance with bond covenants, regulatory requirements, and accounting policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
- Five years treasury, finance or banking experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily cash positioning and monitoring of all hospital bank accounts.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts incorporating AP and payroll activity.
- Ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational, payroll, debt service, and capital requirements.
- Manage banking relationships, including account structure, services, and fee analysis.
- Maintain bank account authorizations, signers, and access controls in coordination with accounting.
- Oversee treasury management systems and online banking platforms.
- Provide functional oversight for cash disbursement activities performed by Accounts Payable and Payroll.
- Establish payment calendars, funding thresholds, and approved payment methods (check, ACH, wire).
- Review and approve wire transfers, ACH releases, and other high-risk payment activity.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks related to liquidity, interest rates, and counterparty exposure.
- Prepare regular treasury and liquidity reports for the Controller, CFO, and senior leadership.
- Provide cash, debt, and liquidity analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Provides strategic support for optimizing and maximizing interest rates earned on cash positioning.
- Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.
