Job Description
Essential Functions of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements below that
- Works independently to oversee financials for the Bridge programs, including making efforts to understand program operations and related contracts, and acts as a main point of contact and support for programs in accounting matters
- Provides timely and consistent updates on grant billing status and overall financial performance to all stake holders ( program staff, external funders, assistant controller, controller), including completely monthly financial analysis and reconciliations, preparing monthly reporting, and preparing monthly vouchers and/or act as a first level of review for vouchers prepared by senior staff accountants and staff accountants
- Responsible for monthly and annual closing procedures (general ledger review and reconciliation, journal entries, variance analysis), researches and answers financial questions from stakeholders, investigates and works toward resolving financial variances and issues, exercising discretion on when to bring matters to the attention of a manager and elevating key concerns and priorities, completes financial reporting required by funders, reviews payment requests and expense reports
- Manages annual audits, including but not limited to, program monitoring and yearly financial/compliance audits by answering questions from auditors and pulling back up as requested, prepares budget documents for programs, manages budget meetings, and resolves budget items for both internal and external budgeting purposes
- Supervise direct reports, including onboarding and training as needed

Additional Requirements: This role may be required to transport files using a cart between offices and may also need to file items in a file cabinet (which may involve kneeling or bending down).

Education and Experience Requirements:
Relevant Education:
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum: Associate Degree
Relevant Experience:
Preferred: 4-6 years
Minimum: 2-4 years
Qualifications & Skills:
Preferred: Experience with budgeting and forecasting, grant management, knowledge of financial and A-133 audits, advanced Excel skills, prior supervision experience, month-end close, account reconciliation, knowledge of GAAP, effective communication skills, ability to work independently, strong time-management skills, detail-oriented
Minimum: Intermediate Excel skills, prior supervision experience, month-end close, account reconciliation, knowledge of GAAP, effective communication skills, ability to work independently, strong time-management skills, detail-oriented
Certification/Licensure:
Preferred: CPA
