Contract to Hire
Fully on site
40 hours per week with an expected 10 hours OT the last week of each month.
NATURE OF WORK: This entry level position performs a variety of routine payroll and accounts payable tasks. Duties include administering time and attendance and other basic payroll related tasks. Assisting the Corporate Shared Service Department with problem resolution and maintaining of plant payables is also required.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (The following duties are typical for this classification. However, any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties which may be
- Processes time and attendance records, computes and processes payments and related withholdings.
- Compiles, prepares, and maintains payroll reports and statistics.
- Performs complex clerical duties involved in the preparation and processing of payroll to ensure accuracy of subsequent payment processing.
- Maintains records in accordance to established records management policy.
- Responds to routine questions and requests for forms and information.
- Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- Create and submit credit memos, debit memos and check requests as required.
- Ensure all required source documents are getting properly sent to and processed by Shared Services.
- Facilitate resolution of accounts payable discrepancies and disputes to ensure suppliers are paid properly and avoid service disruptions.
- Perform various payroll and accounts payable system tasks, run reports and perform reconciliations required to maintain compliance to corporate policies and standards.
- Perform various administrative tasks that facilitate daily plant operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Ability to properly handle confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to perform duties with accuracy and integrity.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and payroll principles.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies or procedures consistently and accurately to various situations regarding payroll and accounting duties.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex reports, computer printouts or manuals related to duties as needed to relay information to employees, department heads, vendors or providers or to interpret, use or analyze data or monitor programs.
- Skill at adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing using a calculator or adding machine as needed to analyze data, check data for accuracy or compute payments for vendors or providers.
- Skill in the use of computers and related software such as AS400, Excel, Word, Outlook or other similar applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, corporate contacts, and hourly and salary team members by telephone, writing, or in person.
- Skill at analyzing data and reconciling balances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or equivalent in accounting or business; and one year of relevant work experience preferred.
