Description
Team Fishel, the Best Choice in Utility Construction, is hiring a Safety Coordinator for our Professional Services Group in Tampa, Fl. The responsibilities of this position include conducting safety training programs as well as updating and maintaining those programs. This position also includes conducting routine safety visits to enforce safety policies, including PPE, and identifying specific job hazards and precautions at various job site locations.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the condition and operation of Emergency Response equipment.
Investigate reportable accidents, injuries, and job damages.
Oversee/coordinate and monitor contract service/inspection of fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, portable gas detectors, and other applicable fire/safety equipment.
Conduct/coordinate classroom and field training meetings as needed.
Assist Operations and Maintenance Supervision in preparation of materials for monthly safety meetings.
Serve as a member of Incident Investigation committees on an "as needed" basis.
Requirements & Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in the utility construction or engineering industries with a focus on safety.
Candidates should be accredited in safety, including OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR. Smith System Trainer certification is a plus
Must be available to work both day and night shifts
Ability to perform audits and document findings of company procedures and practices.
Must be an effective communicator, and computer literate with familiarity with MS Office and Google Tools.
