Description : Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Adult & Teen Services Manager, the Adult & Teen Services Associate is integral to providing outstanding reference, readers advisory, and technology support services to library patrons.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver consistent, friendly, and professional customer service to the public and staff while working at the reference desk.
- Provide reference and reader’s advisory services in person, by telephone, e-mail, and via chat.
- Guide patrons by offering personalized suggestions and advice tailored to individual reading preferences.
- Assist patrons with self-service resources, including photocopiers, printers, computers, software applications, databases, online registration, and services designed for adults and teens.
- Aid patrons with basic troubleshooting of common software products, operating systems, browsers, and other technologies associated with library services including handheld devices, e-readers, laptops, and tablets.
- Perform other assigned duties and tasks as needed.
