The Agriculture & Food pricing team operates globally, offering essential pricing benchmarks across various sectors, including Grains, Oilseeds, and Animal Feed.

The Impact:

This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to S&P Global Commodity Insights' Agriculture & Food price assessments throughout North America. As an Agricultural Market Journalist, you will focus on journalistic coverage of market developments, enriching our existing price assessments with insightful reporting.

Join a fast-paced, dynamic team based in Houston that collaborates across the Agriculture & Food markets. Engage in identifying, developing, and executing new price assessment opportunities through thorough journalistic investigation and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Lead market coverage in the Agriculture & Food sectors by reporting on daily physical trade activity, including bids, offers, and other relevant information.

• Build and manage a comprehensive database of contacts, seeking new sources to enhance our assessment process while fostering strong relationships with market participants.

• Identify opportunities to refine methodologies and assist in launching new price assessments.

• Create compelling news stories and multimedia content that captivate our audience.

• Collaborate closely with relevant units across the organization, such as commercial, analytics, and news, to ensure cohesive reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in Agriculture & Food markets with a robust journalistic background.

• Excellent numeracy skills and proficiency in applying basic math functions in Excel.

• Strong communication skills.

• Exceptional writing skills tailored for journalistic contexts.

• Anunderstanding of economics and commodities market fundamentals.

• A degree in Agronomics, Journalism, or a related field.

• Experience in price reporting or market reporting is a plus.
