Job description

Traffic Manager

The Traffic Manager is responsible for the accurate, timely, and efficient trafficking of creative assets across a highly complex, large-scale, multi-channel account portfolio. This role plays a critical function in ensuring media buys are fulfilled correctly and on schedule across traditional and digital channels, while serving as a strong collaborator with Account Management, Media, Production, and external partners.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on traffic management experience, strong operational rigor, and excellent communication skills. This role may include light project management support, particularly in coordinating timelines, approvals, and cross-functional handoffs, but the primary focus is traffic execution and oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end trafficking of creative assets for a highly complex, multi-channel account, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery
  • Traffic assets across traditional and digital channels, including but not limited to: Broadcast, Digital & Programmatic, Paid Search, Paid Social, YouTube / Online Video, OOH, Print, and Site Direct
  • Partner closely with Account Management and Media teams to obtain and clarify direction related to markets, messaging, assets, run dates, and specifications
  • Generate and manage Creative IDs, file naming conventions, and asset tracking to support reporting, dashboards, and audits
  • Input and maintain accurate trafficking details within Media Insertion Orders (MIOs) and related systems
  • Coordinate internal and external approvals prior to releasing traffic instructions to media partners and vendors
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, or timing issues and communicate solutions early to project teams
  • Collaborate effectively across disciplines to ensure smooth handoffs and shared accountability
  • Support light project management needs as required, including timeline coordination and status communication
  • Ensure adherence to partner SLAs, internal processes, and quality standards
  • Uphold our agency values: Humanity. Diversity. Integrity. Tenacity. Curiosity.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Traffic Management experience within an agency or media-driven environment
  • Proven experience trafficking both traditional and digital media, including programmatic, search, and social
  • Experience supporting large-scale, high-complexity, multi-channel accounts
  • Strong understanding of agency workflows, cross-functional dependencies, and structured intake and trafficking processes
  • Knowledge of media and creative specifications across multiple formats, including digital, OOH, print, and broadcast
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail in a high-volume environment
  • Required platform experience:
    • Smartsheet
    • Basecamp
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external media partners
  • Exceptional organizational skills and accuracy when managing high volumes of deliverables
  • Clear, proactive communicator with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Intake Stewardship: Manage the intake process for all creative requests, ensuring forms are complete, accurate, and clearly scoped for delivery.
  • Creative Trafficking Execution: Process final creative assets and traffic them directly to media partners, ensuring all files meet required specs, formats, and deadlines.
  • Timeline Coordination: Partner with the Project Manager to stay in sync on production schedules, helping ensure deliverables are sent out in lockstep with broader timelines.
  • Delivery QA: Review final creative to confirm file readiness (naming conventions, formatting, file types, and specs) prior to trafficking to media partners.
  • Documentation & Tracking: Maintain detailed trafficking logs and delivery records, updating stakeholders on file status and delivery confirmation.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the operational bridge between Project Management, Creative, and external media contacts to ensure clarity and accuracy in all outbound creative distribution.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively flag and resolve trafficking challenges such as unclear specs, missing assets, or media changes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience trafficking creative across multiple channels simultaneously
  • Familiarity with media plans and insertion orders
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and spec guidelines

Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working in hybrid Traffic / Project Management environments
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, deadline-driven client settings
