Job Title: ElectricianJob DescriptionThis role offers an opportunity for an experienced commercial electrician to work on a variety of construction projects in Central Kentucky. You will perform journeyman-level electrical work, often independently or with the support of a helper or apprentice, focusing on commercial installations, wiring, and conduit systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial construction environments.
- Perform branch wiring and terminations for 240V and 480V systems in accordance with project specifications and electrical codes.
- Install, bend, and route various types of conduit, including EMT, for commercial electrical projects.
- Pull, route, and secure electrical cable and low-voltage cabling as required by the project scope.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute installations.
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks and effectively lead or support a helper or apprentice when required.
- Coordinate with site leadership, including superintendents and foremen, to ensure work aligns with project schedules and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area on active construction sites.
- Communicate progress, issues, and material needs clearly to supervisors and project teams.
Essential Skills- At least 2 years of commercial construction experience as an electrician.
- Journeyman-level electrical skills, whether licensed or not.
- Proficiency working with 240V and 480V electrical systems in commercial environments.
- Strong experience installing and working with all types of conduit, including EMT.
- Demonstrated ability to perform branch wiring in commercial construction projects.
- Experience with commercial electrical installations, including wiring, cable routing, and conduit layout.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Capability to guide and collaborate with helpers or apprentices on site.
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems and basic understanding of fire alarm, security, or network cabling.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and construction documents.
- Commitment to following safety procedures on construction sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Low-voltage experience in fire alarm, security, or network cabling is a plus.
- Experience working on projects for general contractors in commercial construction environments.
- Previous experience collaborating with superintendents and foremen on job sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues in the field.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with project teams and other trades.
- A strong work ethic and reliability in outdoor and varying weather conditions.

Work Environment
This role is with a local electrical contractor that focuses on commercial projects across Central Kentucky. All work is local, so you will not be required to travel long distances or stay out of town. You will primarily work on active construction sites, often outdoors and in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather. The environment is hands-on and fast-paced, involving regular use of electrical tools, conduit bending equipment, and standard construction-site tools. You can expect to collaborate with superintendents, foremen, and other trades while adhering to site safety requirements and wearing appropriate construction attire and personal protective equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
