Job Title: Aircraft Inspector

Job Description

This role focuses on performing detailed inspections on corporate and small aircraft, ensuring airworthiness, and managing non-conformance reports within a busy maintenance hangar. You will spend most of your time on the hangar floor conducting inspections and repairs, with some desk-based work to document findings and sign off maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections on aircraft in accordance with regulatory and company standards to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • Review, document, and help manage non-conformance reports, ensuring timely resolution and proper corrective actions.
  • Sign off on airworthiness determinations and maintenance work within the scope of the A&P license and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs primarily on an in-house fleet, including Embraer 135s and Falcon 50 aircraft, as well as other customer aircraft such as small jets and small propeller planes.
  • Work predominantly on the hangar floor (approximately 80% of the time) performing hands-on inspections and repairs, with the remaining time spent at a desk within the hangar completing documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to identify discrepancies and ensure repairs meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, corrective actions, and sign-offs in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply specialized knowledge of corporate aircraft, including models such as Embraer Praetor and Phenom, to diagnose issues and verify proper operation.
  • Support continuous improvement of inspection and maintenance processes by providing feedback and recommendations based on field experience.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance standards while working in a Part 145 repair station environment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a corporate aircraft inspector.
  • Minimum 6+ years of total aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Active Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Experience performing inspections on aircraft in a corporate or similar aviation environment.
  • Experience signing off on aircraft airworthiness and maintenance activities.
  • Proven ability to review and help manage non-conformance reports.
  • Hands-on experience inspecting and repairing corporate aircraft, including small jets and small propeller aircraft.
  • Ability to work primarily on the hangar floor while also completing necessary desk-based documentation.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Inspection Authorization (IA) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Embraer Praetor and Embraer Phenom aircraft strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Embraer 135 and Falcon 50 aircraft.
  • Experience working in a corporate aircraft service center.
  • Experience in a Part 145 repair station environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with maintenance teams.

Work Environment

The role is based in a corporate aircraft service center and FAA Part 145 repair station, working primarily in a hangar environment. Inspectors spend about 80% of their time on the floor performing hands-on inspections and repairs and about 20% at a desk within the hangar completing documentation and managing reports. The shift runs from 7:00 . to 4:00 ., providing a structured daytime schedule. You will work on an in-house fleet that includes Embraer 135s and Falcon 50 aircraft, as well as other customer aircraft such as small jets and small propeller planes, using standard aviation maintenance tools and equipment in a professional, safety-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
