Job description

Aircraft Quality Assurance Manager

Manage the activities of the Quality Assurance group in determining and monitoring various quality indicators throughout the facility, developing trend analysis. Provides input to Top Management regarding key performance indicators of the Facility. Works with department heads to develop and track Continuous Improvement efforts. Interfaces with customers and suppliers to understand and coordinate the resolution of quality issues. Considers the impact of quality decisions, as they affect profitability. Responsible for the coordination and integration of supplier quality issues/requirements to ensure regulatory and QMS requirements are fulfilled. To include supplier evaluation, approval and monitoring. Schedule and manage supplier QMS and/or Process audits and surveillance visits. Establish and maintain adequate processes and records to meet QMS and regulatory requirements. Quality representative participating with trans-departmental team to ensure the supplier selection and maintenance process is efficient and cost effective. Maintain approved supplier database. Responsible for implementation of the QMS and EMS internal audit system including developing schedules, audit criteria and communicating associated improvement actions. Maintain corrective action database. Responsible for ISO QMS Document Control. Coordinate and monitor department travel requirements. Prepare, submit and monitor annual department budget requirements.

Manage the Quality Assurance department.

Manage team members in data collection and generation of quality indicators.

Organizes and conducts interdepartmental meetings as necessary to review quality issues, determine root causes, implement changes and monitor progress.

Organize annual management review meeting.

Manage and maintain the quality documentation system to ensure the effective operation and control of company processes.

Maintain ISO Certification leading appropriate actions.

Responsible for personnel activities of QMS and Certificated auditors.

Represent Quality in trans-departmental team effort to coordinate supplier issues.

Plan and manage internal and external audits and monitor corrective actions performance achievement for the Repair Station, POA, ISO, PMA and EMS.

Perform in-depth supplier audit using appropriate checklists and reference criteria and document results of audit using appropriate forms and information.

Measure, monitor top suppliers performance and respect of the regulations and identify the top discrepant suppliers and lead appropriate action.

Ensure Approved Supplier, Corrective Action database information is input and maintained current and in a timely manner.

Comply with DFJC Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, Parts Manufacturing Approval Manual, Quality Manual, POA Quality Action Plan (QAP), DFJC specifications and approved procedures.

Monitor departmental travel to stay within budget requirements.

Perform traditional managerial duties such as hiring, terminating, evaluating the performance of, administering discipline to and approval leave for subordinates.

Other duties as assigned by upper management.

Bachelor's degree or higher degree in quality assurance (experience may be substituted).

10 years aviation quality system background

5 years experience in supervisory position

Quality Management Systems Auditor training meeting current DFJC standards.

Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Must possess excellent verbal, written skills and interpersonal communication skills.

Must possess well-developed critical thinking, logic and analytical skills.

Must be pro-active and team oriented.

Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings and technical data.

Valid automobile driver license free of citations during past 12 months.

Read write and speak the English language

Be able to travel by surface and air.

Accomplish supplier visits audits in various environments (i.e. non air conditioned, humid, hot /cold, etc.)

Must be able to walk 3 miles, climb, and kneel for 15 minute periods of time.

Lift up to 5 pounds.

Must be able to sit at a desk or work station for extended periods

Good vision, 20/20 corrected minimum.

The compensation for this position typically falls between $100,000 and $140,000 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus, shift differential or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
