As a Mech & Robotics Technician, you will utilize your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. Additionally, you will mentor junior technicians to help them grow in their roles.
Responsibilities- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
- Maintain a positive working relationship across all the Amazon Operations facility.
- Track and store department inventory.
- Move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Possibly travel up to 20% as a minimum.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- 1 year of experience in PC competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
- 2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
- 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- 1 year of metal and wood fabrication.
- 1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
- 1 year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
- Project Management experience.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a large distribution facility equipped with high-speed automation equipment, primarily featuring robotic components. Performance is tracked by data and numbers, ensuring expectations are met without micromanagement. Candidates should be comfortable walking 10,000 steps per day and must be open to any 10-hour shift, with positions available for all shifts.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.11 - $30.11/hr.
