Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an urgent Hospital Medicine night-coverage locum tenens opportunity in Niceville, Florida.

This is a focused inpatient assignment within a 65-bed community acute-care hospital serving the Florida Panhandle. The clinical model allows the APP to concentrate on Hospital Medicine without adding procedural or critical-care responsibilities: no procedures, no ventilator management, no ICU rounding, and no call responsibilities outside the scheduled shift.

Coverage is needed ASAP for September and October, with blocks of approximately 3–5 days available. Exact night-shift hours are currently being finalized by the Hospital Medicine team.

Hospital Medicine Practice

The Hospital Medicine service maintains an average daily census of approximately 25–35 patients, with approximately 10 admissions and 2 consults per day across the service, according to the client.

The hospital itself is a 65-bed general acute-care facility with more than 150 physicians on medical staff. Public information confirms 24-hour emergency services, critical-care capability, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, imaging and laboratory resources, providing the clinical infrastructure of an established community hospital.

Clinical Scope

• Hospital Medicine night coverage

• Care coordination with physicians, nursing and hospital support services
• Appropriate consultation and escalation
• Clinical documentation
• No ICU rounding

The facility does maintain critical-care services, but the client has specifically stated that this locum APP will not round in the ICU. Public facility information independently confirms the hospital has a critical-care unit.

Candidate Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Florida License Required
• Active Florida DEA Required
• Hospital Medicine or inpatient experience preferred
• Ability to begin credentialing immediately
• Clean credentialing file required
• Ability to complete required EMR training and facility orientation

The license requirement is firm because of the urgency of the September/October coverage need.
