Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Definition
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, refinement, and validation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements using recognised tools, techniques, and frameworks, ensuring clarity and traceability
- Produce professional, well-structured artefacts including user stories, process maps, business rules, acceptance criteria, data definitions, and future-state operating models
- Ensure all requirements reflect a strong Customer Focus, grounding solutions in real operational and customer need
- Demonstrate Accountability by ensuring requirements are testable, prioritised, and understood by delivery teams.
Process & Service Improvement
- Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and evaluate opportunities to streamline, automate, or modernise business processes
- Model current and future-state processes using BPMN 2.0 or equivalent standards
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to define value-driven improvements, promoting Innovation and continuous improvement
- Ensure solutions uphold Compassion and fairness for vulnerable populations, frontline staff, and service users.
Solution Shaping & Delivery Support
- Translate business needs into solution options, considering technical feasibility, service impact, and potential risks
- Partner with Product Owners, architects, and delivery leads to ensure designs reflect both business intent and user needs
- Support backlog prioritisation, sprint planning, and iterative refinement to foster Collaboration between business and technical teams
- Maintain Accountability for ensuring analysis outputs support predictable, high-quality delivery.
Change Management & Business Readiness
- Contribute to change impact assessments, stakeholder mapping, and business readiness planning, ensuring transitions are smooth and human-centred
- Work closely with change and communications teams to support effective engagement, applying Compassion and clarity when explaining impacts on colleagues and customers
- Help embed new processes and behaviours while respecting the diverse needs of teams and service users.
Data Analysis & Insight
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to support evidence-based decision-making and business case development
- Support definition of KPIs, reporting requirements, user journeys, and performance measurement
- Ensure insights consider operational realities and maintain strong Customer Focus and fairness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Build strong, trusting relationships across business units, delivery teams, and leadership
- Facilitate workshops, playback sessions, and interviews with confidence, encouraging open dialogue, Respect, and psychological safety
- Manage tension, ambiguity, and competing viewpoints with professionalism and Compassion, ensuring alignment without compromising integrity
- Act as a role model for Collaboration, supporting a positive working culture across the PMO and wider organisation.
Quality, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain the highest standards of documentation quality, alignment, version control, and governance compliance
- Contribute to developing BA standards, frameworks, tools, and templates, promoting Innovation and continuous improvement
- Mentor junior BAs by providing constructive feedback, structured development support, and a culture of Respect and inclusive learning.

Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- 3-5 years' experience in business analysis, including requirements elicitation, process mapping, and solution shaping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent facilitator, confident leading workshops and discussions with diverse groups.
- Experience producing high-quality requirement sets, business cases, and process documentation.
- Skilled in Agile, SAFe, and / or Waterfall delivery environments.
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating Respect, active listening, and constructive challenge.
- Experience engaging in cross-team Collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, BPMN 2.0 or equivalent modelling tools.
Desirable
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tooling.
- Understanding of service design, user experience, or domain-specific constraints.
- Knowledge of employment, health, or disability service sectors.
Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Business Analysis qualification (e.g., BCS Business Analysis Diploma, BCS Foundation Certificate, or equivalent).
- Agile delivery certification (e.g., AgilePM, SAFe, Scrum Master / PSM).
- Training in BPMN 2.0 or equivalent process modelling standards.
- Demonstrable ongoing professional development.
