Description :
Hiring Assistant Teachers for Lake Area Discovery Center. Positions are Part-Time, Year-Round, with 64 hours of PTO (prorated), eight paid Holidays, and paid training and continuing education. Hourly Rate of $18.00-$22.00 / hour, depending on education and experience.
The Lake Area Discovery Center serves children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as pre-kindergarten students. Partnering with ministry and education programs, LADC offers rich educational and faith formation experiences. Join a team of dedicated, early-childhood professionals at this NAEYC-accredited, 4-Star Parent Aware high-quality program.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework preferred; willingness to pursue additional education required for advancement
- Previous experience working with young children preferred
- Experience in a classroom, childcare center, church education program, or similar setting beneficial
- Ability to assist with supervising children throughout the day, including activities, playtime, transitions, meals, and snacks
- Ability to support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities
- Ability to assist with classroom management and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, coworkers, and families
- Patient, positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Ability to follow program philosophy and align with Lake Area Discovery Center’s mission and values
- CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire
- Willingness to complete required health and safety training for child care professionals
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check
- Ability to actively engage with young children, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 40 pounds
