  • Position Description :
  • The Associate Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials related to the bill of materials while ensuring all suppliers are conforming to internal and customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Provides oversight and management of supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery, and financial performance within the ERP system.
  • Manages approved suppliers in accordance with organization requirements and customer requirements.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with the supply chain.
  • Interprets and enforces contract terms and conditions.
  • Communicates with Quality personnel and customers to resolve supplier performance issues.
  • Prepares and executes negotiated contractual documents (i.e. Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions).
  • Conducts risk, issues, and opportunities management. Issue Supplier Corrective Actions Requests (SCARs) as needed.
  • Manages priorities for delivery of products, and services.
  • Works with Quality personnel and customers to formalize procurement requirements.
  • Manages contract terminations and Purchase Order closeouts.
  • Delivers timely accurate status for planned orders, purchase requisitions, and supplier performance.
  • Communicates across functions to manage risks, issues, and performance to plan.
  • Understanding ethical behavior.
  • Understanding of product safety.

    • Safety

  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules. Identifies and reports safety problems.

    • Additional Accountabilities

  • Trains less skilled personnel as assigned.
  • Performs all work necessary to achieve Morris Machine’s goals.

    • Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing / procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude.
  • General understanding of AS9100 QMS
