Manager Position
Bodewell Group is seeking a full-time Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for leading communications and stakeholder engagement efforts for large-scale, complex transmission and substation programs. The Manager will serve as the primary client point of contact and will be responsible for ensuring project messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with engineering, construction, environmental, and regulatory milestones. This individual will work closely with cross-functional project teams to translate technical information into accessible communications, develop stakeholder engagement strategies, and support proactive issue identification and response. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and relationship builder who thrives in fast-paced, high-visibility infrastructure environments.
Location & Travel: Fresno/Central Valley is the preferred location; however, we are open to candidates based in Sacramento or the Bay Area. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of working onsite three days per week for employees located near our San Francisco or Fresno offices. Travel is required approximately 1015% of the time. This position may also require availability for early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, as business needs dictate.
Compensation: The annual base amount for this position is dependent on several factors, including the candidate's geographic location, experience, and qualifications. The annual base amount may be adjusted based on market conditions in the location where the employee resides. A typical annual base range for this role is: $75,000 $95,000 - (actual compensation may vary by location and will follow local regulations).
Responsibilities:
- Manage communications and stakeholder outreach for large, complex transmission and substation programs, serving as the primary point of contact for client.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, construction, environmental, and regulatory teams to ensure project information, milestones, risks, and impacts are accurately translated into clear, consistent, and timely messaging and collateral.
- Lead and mentor junior account staff, providing coaching, direction, and performance feedback while supporting skill development in stakeholder engagement, issue management, and program coordination.
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies, including public outreach, briefings, and issue response plans, for high-visibility infrastructure projects with significant community and operational impacts.
- Track and manage program-level risks, issues, and dependencies related to stakeholder concerns and communications, escalating emerging issues appropriately and supporting project team decision-making.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Public Administration or similar preferred
- 5+ years' experience in public relations or public outreach fields
