Job description

Estimator Position

Representing a leading provider of interior glass partitions and architectural metal and glass solutions, specializing in creating innovative and visually stunning spaces for commercial and residential clients. With a commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and design, they have established themselves as a trusted partner in the construction and architectural industry.

We are seeking experienced Estimators to join their team in Midtown Manhattan, Suffolk County, LI, Miami, FL and other locations. The Estimator will play a crucial role in project management and sales processes by accurately estimating the costs associated with interior glass partitions, architectural metalwork, and glass installations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the architectural metal and glass field or a related industry, along with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior glass partition and architectural metal and glass projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors.
  • Bid Preparation: Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to develop competitive bids and proposals for potential clients.
  • Material Sourcing: Identify and source appropriate materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality while maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  • Project Analysis: Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to accurately assess project requirements and generate precise estimates.
  • Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of a project, providing regular updates to the project management team.
  • Value Engineering: Suggest cost-saving alternatives and value engineering solutions to improve project profitability.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, proposals, and correspondence for future reference and reporting.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients to clarify project details and address any inquiries related to estimates and proposals.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and regulations to ensure our estimates remain competitive and compliant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' of experience in the architectural metal and glass field or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
