The teachers, therapists, and nurse all work together to create a top notch program where children make physical, emotional, and cognitive gains daily. Apparo means "to make ready," so our goal is to equip each of our students with the tools they need for the future.The Assistant Principal PositionAs Assistant Principal, you’ll be the steady second set of hands (and eyes) that keeps classrooms running smoothly and teachers growing with confidence. This role exists to strengthen instruction, support students, and keep our program aligned with licensing and Quality Rated expectations.Key responsibilities:- Coach and mentor teachers through observation, feedback, and follow-up- Support licensing and Quality Rated rules, documentation, and readiness- Review lesson plans and newsletters; offer clear, helpful edits- Partner with the Principal to support teachers, parents, and students- Help guide student behavior support alongside the team- Lead new-teacher onboarding, training, and curriculum support- Help plan fun, student-centered eventsRequired qualifications/skills:- Bachelor’s degree preferred (education or special education)- Initiative, flexibility, and a true team-player mindset- Friendly, confident mentoring and communication skillsIf you’re ready to help a great school run even better, apply today.A Day in the LifeYour day starts Monday–Friday, 7:30–4:30, with quick check-ins and a game plan for what needs a tune-up. You’ll pop into classrooms, then circle back with teachers for bite-sized coaching that’s practical and encouraging. Between conversations, you’ll touch base on Quality Rated and licensing details, keeping things tidy and on track.Midday often includes new-teacher training or mentoring opportunities. When student behavior gets tricky, you’ll jump in to help the team reset and move forward. You’ll also carve out time in the afternoons to review lesson plans and newsletters as well as sprinkle in planning for fun student events.
