Capstone is seeking a detail-oriented, high-performing Benefits Specialist to own and deliver our global benefits programs. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, execution, and continuous improvement of our health, welfare, and retirement offerings, ensuring a seamless and compliant employee experience.

Reporting to the Head of People, this role will operate with a high degree of independence while partnering closely with People Operations, Payroll, and Finance. This position offers the opportunity to expand scope over time and deepen expertise across benefits and broader People Operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy and ownership, and is motivated to build scalable, well-run processes. You will play a critical role in maintaining a high-quality benefits experience while contributing to the continued evolution of the People function.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Own day-to-day administration and delivery of all global employee benefit programs, including health, welfare, retirement, and wellness offerings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on all benefits-related inquiries and issue resolution
  • Manage the annual benefits renewal process, including data gathering, analysis, and implementation
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.) and maintain accurate documentation
  • Manage relationships with brokers and vendors, including renewals, performance tracking, and ongoing support
  • Partner closely with Finance, Payroll and People Operations to reconcile benefit invoices and ensure data accuracy across systems
  • Administer leave of absence programs and documentation (FMLA, disability, state programs, etc.)
  • Maintain and update benefits data and deductions within HRIS, ensuring accuracy and alignment across systems
  • Analyze plan utilization, costs, and market trends to recommend improvements and cost optimization strategies
  • Contribute to employee communications and education to improve understanding and engagement with benefits programs
  • Support broader People initiatives, including wellness and employee experience programs
  • Cross-train in payroll processing, partnering with the Payroll Specialist to support accuracy, continuity, and coverage as needed
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of People Operations

Our future colleague has these skills:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of hands-on benefits administration in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience managing health & welfare and retirement programs, including vendor and broker management
  • Solid working knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements (HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA, IRS, DOL, etc.)
  • Exposure to or strong interest in payroll processes, with a willingness to cross-train and provide backup support for payroll operations
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive data with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, and People Operations partners
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to operate effectively in a growing and evolving environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely support employees at all levels

Do you possess these bonus skills:

  • Familiarity with international benefits programs
  • Exposure to payroll processes
