Job Description

In short, as our Data Platform Engineer on the Data Platform team, you are responsible for maintaining data platforms that support data in motion, data governance, automation, self-service, and standardizing efficient patterns. You will collaborate closely with the DBA’s, DevOps Team, and Architecture to gain developer efficiency, improve data quality and increase stability.

What we would like to see in your Tech Stack:

• Data Platforms (Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure)
• Unstructured Databases (MongoDB, Cosmos)
• Scripting Languages (Python, API’s, Powershell)
• Data Integration (Kafka, SSIS)
• CICD Pipelines and Source Control (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
• Orchestrators (Argo, Airflow)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Administration and Monitoring (DataDog)

So, What Kind of Folks Are We Looking for?

The Specifics.

• Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with technology partners, engineers and architecture
• Strong engineering and data governance fundamentals; recognizes industry patterns and strategies with a focus on maintaining healthy, secure platforms
• Expert at navigating product and engineering tradeoffs within the teams
• Focused on driving what matters forward through deliberate influential action
• Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Enjoys mentoring engineers and helping to remove roadblocks for them
• Data driven strategy is at the root of their approach to problem solving
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, regardless of technology
• 5+ years' experience in data engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
