Billing Manager
Polsinelli is seeking a Billing Manager in one of the following offices: St. Louis, Denver, Dallas, New York, or Los Angeles. Core responsibilities include overseeing and managing all time and billing processes, leading and managing related staff, identifying and recommending improvements to billing procedures, training and mentoring direct reports, ensuring client and billing attorney documentation is consistently updated, working with staff and attorneys to improve their knowledge and use of firm provided tools, delivering high-quality, accurate, timely, seamless service to attorneys and clients, maintaining high levels of customer service and responsiveness for attorneys, clients, vendors, and staff, assisting with onboarding new shareholders, assisting with month-end close processes, participating in annual performance reviews, leading staff to driving personal development initiatives, assisting with preparation of projections, assisting with Top WIP Report, providing backup support during annual audits, maintaining and organizing write-down tracking spreadsheets, assisting with managing and monitoring distribution list emails, assisting with pro rata production allocation calculations, exercising appropriate discretion and independent judgment in the execution of the above duties, adhering to firm billing and accounting standards, and maintaining strict confidentiality of information.
Requirements include ten years of billing experience and three years of management experience with a law firm or comparable experience in a corporate legal billing department, experience with Elite/3E is preferred, demonstrated leadership experience, strong organizational skills, proven ability to lead others, build effective teams, and coach for success, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated sound judgment and ability to make effective, timely decisions, ability to utilize strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects, highly motivated with ability to drive results and work on multiple projects with minimal supervision, ability to work in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures, highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, travel less than 10% as required, and a bachelor's degree.
