Cramer Fish Sciences (CFS) is seeking a Senior Fisheries Biologist to join our team in Meadow Vista or West Sacramento, CA . This role will lead and manage scientific studies on salmonid ecology, fish habitat, and habitat restoration.
HOW TO APPLY :
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead and manage research projects focused on salmonid ecology, aquatic habitat, and watershed assessments in California and the Pacific Northwest
- Coordinate field data collection and train and supervise field crews for multiple projects
- Manage and analyze field, experimental, and long-term monitoring data using, R, Python, STAN and other statistical packages
- Work closely with interdisciplinary positions to develop project reports including technical analysis, writing, graphics, data summaries, and interpretations
- Manage projects including monitoring the scope of work, budget, and timelines as well as maintaining client relationships, attend client meetings, and distribute periodic project updates
- Lead the development of project proposals, plans, objectives, tasks, and budgets for small to medium projects, supporting proposal development on larger projects
- Attend and present at scientific meetings and assist in or lead the writing of scientific manuscripts for publication
- Supervise and mentor Biologists and Technicians as needed by sharing expertise and guidance
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE :
B.S. in fisheries, biology, or a related field + 7 years of successful and sustained performance focused on salmonids and PNW aquatic organisms or
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
COMPENSATION :
Salary : $80,000 to $95,000 / annually (dependent on experience)
