Job Title : Teacher's Aide

Overview :

St. Matthew is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Aide to support our faculty in creating an enriching learning environment for our students. The Teacher's Aide will work closely with classroom teachers across multiple grades to assist in implementing instructional activities, providing individualized support to students, and fostering a positive and inclusive school community.

Responsibilities :

  • Classroom Support : Assist classroom teachers in preparing instructional materials, setting up learning centers, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Student Assistance : Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, reinforcing concepts taught by the teacher, and assisting with academic tasks as needed.
  • Behavior Management : Support positive behavior management strategies in the classroom by modeling appropriate behavior, implementing reinforcement systems, and providing redirection and support to students as needed.
  • Supervision : Assist with the supervision of students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, and other school-related events to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Catholic Identity : Embrace and uphold the Catholic mission and values of St. Matthew, fostering an environment that promotes faith, compassion, and respect for all members of the school community.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma required;
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check;
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents / guardians. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the academic and social-emotional growth of students;
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of students and classroom teachers, ability to work with children aged 4-5;
  • Alignment with the mission and values of St. Matthew School.
