Position Highlights
The College of Engineering is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the position of Research Assistant (Research Technician I) in the lab of Dr. Shang Song in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The Song lab (songlab.arizona.edu) is fully funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH), private foundation (American Heart Association), and other organizations. The laboratory specializes in neuroengineering, organs-on-chips technology, and animal models. The Research Assistant hired into this role will work closely with post-doctoral fellows and graduate students on various exciting translational research projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Under supervision from senior level researcher, prepare animal model experiments including assessing animal behavior, performing surgeries, tissue harvest, pathology and molecular analysis.
- Participate and observe in cell experiments including cell culture, PCR, western blot, transfection, and transduction.
- Assist senior researchers with data analysis after collecting data from performed experiments including recording data, compiling basic notes from experiment outcomes, and observing the use of Prism and MS Excel.
- Assist team with general lab maintenance such as cleaning lab, filling records, order / receiving lab supplies, as needed.
