Job description

Senior Project Manager Water Infrastructure Construction

Our client is seeking an experienced construction professional to take a leadership role in the delivery of major water infrastructure projects across Texas. This role is a strong fit for a seasoned project leader who enjoys taking ownership early, developing high-performing teams, and navigating large-scale projects through final delivery. With significant infrastructure work ahead, this individual will have the opportunity to influence high-impact projects while working alongside experienced construction and engineering professionals.

Located in the Frisco area, this position provides hybrid flexibility as project schedules and responsibilities allow. Regular onsite engagement is an important part of this position, including travel across Texas to support projects as they move forward.

This Role Offers:

  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, along with eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
  • Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, employee ownership participation, paid time off, paid holidays, wellness resources, and professional development support.
  • The opportunity to lead substantial municipal infrastructure work that directly supports growing communities.
  • Contribute from the outset by helping shape execution plans and key project decisions ahead of construction.
  • Take a leading role in driving project outcomes, strengthening teams, maintaining customer partnerships, and ensuring effective execution.
  • Exposure to challenging water and wastewater construction involving treatment facilities and other major utility systems.

Focus:

  • Direct complex municipal water infrastructure projects across planning, preconstruction, construction, startup, and final completion.
  • Guide project planning by integrating financial targets, workforce allocation, purchasing needs, construction schedules, and field operations.
  • Lead collaborative delivery assignments using CMAR and GC at risk methods, including participation in preconstruction and development of guaranteed maximum pricing.
  • Partner with project teams to maintain alignment, support progress, and ensure consistent execution throughout delivery.
  • Oversee project financials by monitoring budgets, tracking performance, and maintaining accurate reporting throughout execution.
  • Coordinate external resources and material needs to help projects stay on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate across project teams to identify potential challenges, improve coordination, and support smooth execution.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, vendors, external partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Address emerging challenges with practical solutions that support smooth execution and successful project outcomes.
  • Strengthen team performance through mentorship, thoughtful delegation, and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute construction expertise during proposal and preconstruction activities, including development of budgets, schedules, logistics plans, and delivery strategies.

Skill Set:

  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in construction, engineering, or project management, with significant responsibility for complex construction projects.
  • Strong general contractor experience within municipal water, wastewater, or comparable heavy utility construction.
  • Demonstrated involvement with major infrastructure such as water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, pumping systems, transmission infrastructure, intake facilities, or similar projects.
  • Practical experience delivering projects through CMAR, GC at risk, or another collaborative construction delivery model.
  • Background contributing across multiple phases of project development, coordination, financial oversight, and execution.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project coordination, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively among multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage competing demands, exercise sound judgment, and maintain consistent project performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Willingness to travel within Texas and maintain substantial on-site involvement when required by the assigned project.
