Estimator Position

With Staff Management | SMX, you'll get a weekly paycheck, learn new skills, meet new people, and work with a great management team in a clean and safe environment. Are you a sharp-minded Estimator ready to take on a great opportunity in Kent, WA? We're looking for a motivated professional for a temp-to-hire role with an excellent pay rate of $35-$40/hour! Shifts: 1st Shift. Employment Types: Full Time, Temp to Hire. Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00 / hour.

Duties:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial door and millwork construction projects
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop material and labor estimates
  • Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and other team members to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and material availability
  • Maintain product knowledge and familiarity with computer systems
  • Assist with project planning and bidding processes
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships and respond to bid inquiries
  • Coordinate estimating with plant scheduling and review job cost data post-project for continuous improvement

Position Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Some prior experience in construction estimating or a related role preferred
  • Knowledge of doors, frames, hardware, and installation procedures
  • Ability to work with contractors and internal teams effectively
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and high accuracy
  • Strong communication skills with management, customers, and vendors
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel
  • Integrity, result-oriented, and able to work under pressure
  • Willingness to learn and grow under the mentorship of an experienced estimator

Requirements: Background Check, Drug Test, Must be at least 18 years old. Required education: HS Diploma or GED.
