Job Description
Job Description
Utah Housing Corporation (UHC), located in West Valley City, Utah, is seeking a Systems Administrator I to join our Infrastructure Team . This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who will primarily provide help desk support while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise technologies. In this role, you will assist end-users with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues and have the chance to cross-train and work on projects alongside senior administrators. At UHC, we work with some of the best technology available, and we're looking for someone eager to learn and grow while contributing to a secure, high-performing environment.
Established in 1975 by the Utah State Legislature, UHC serves as Utah's Housing Finance Agency. We are committed to addressing the state's housing needs through innovation and financial expertise. Our team is passionate about this mission, and that dedication is reflected in the quality of our work and the impact we make across the state.
This Systems Administrator I position pays between $60,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on experience and follows a hybrid work model, requiring at least two days per week in our West Valley City office. We place a strong emphasis on work-life balance, and overtime, evening, and weekend work is minimal and only required when necessary. UHC offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes vacation and sick leave, 12 paid holidays each year, employer contributions to the Utah Retirement Systems (URS), Public Employees Health Plan (PEHP) traditional health plans, as well as a high-deductible health plan that includes employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Additional benefits include dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care, group term life and accident insurance, and options for 401(k), 457, IRA, and Roth IRA plans. We also offer a supportive coaching work environment.
As a Systems Administrator I , you will serve as the first point of contact for technical support, assisting end-users with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. This role is primarily focused on help desk responsibilities but offers opportunities to cross-train and work on projects with senior administrators. Under guidance, you will gain exposure to managing VMware vSphere environments, supporting HPE storage systems, and maintaining Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructure. You will also learn about hybrid identity management with Entra ID, enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication, and business continuity through Zerto replication technologies. Additional responsibilities include documenting procedures, escalating complex issues, and participating in system monitoring and patching activities as part of your development.
The ideal candidate for our Systems Administrator I position will have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or at least four years of related work experience. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, along with familiarity with Windows environments and a willingness to learn virtualization, storage, and enterprise backup technologies. This position is perfect for someone eager to develop their technical expertise while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
At Utah Housing Corporation , our mission is to serve Utah's housing needs through finance and innovation. We are guided by core values, integrity, respect, communication, teamwork and collaboration, and growth and development, which shapes how we work together and how we support the communities we serve. We are looking for someone who embodies these values in their daily work and takes pride in contributing to a purpose-driven organization.
The initial application process takes just a few minutes, and qualified candidates will be contacted by Utah Housing Corporation.
