The Safer Foundation is a social service provider to individuals with arrest and conviction records. Through a full range of services, including case management, educational instruction and advocacy, we focus on preparing individuals for the world of work by helping them find and keep productive and meaningful employment
General Summary :
The Job Developer (JD) is responsible for the development of employer relationships that result in career path placements for Safer clients engaged in programming and services under the “Supportive Reentry Network Collaborative” (SRNC). This position will work specifically with justice-impacted individuals, who are returning to society, many of which are experiencing a need for immediate resources including employment, medical insurance, behavioral health and housing, as well as other needs. The Job Developer will be a part of a multi-disciplinary workforce team that works together to address the holistic needs of individuals seeking employment and supportive services from the Safer Foundation. The Job Developer will report to the Employment Manager. The Job Developer will also work cross-functionally with all programmatic teams and other key personnel at the Safer Foundation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Stakeholder Interface and Service
- Understand the client population that Safer serves, including aspects of justice supervision (probation, parole, pre-trial, etc.) common / unique barriers and needs are required to properly inform employment placements and coordination.
- Work collaboratively with the team to receive referrals for employment, taking appropriate steps to match and place individuals with jobs tailored to their IEP. (Individual Employment Plan)
- Create excellent professional relationships with employers and fellow department co-workers.
- Work in collaboration with various program departments and troubleshoot barriers, to collectively develop solutions.
- In conjunction with an assigned Re-entry Navigator or other involved staff, the Job Developer will provide data driven outcomes, produced by intensive reporting that is specific to program deliverables.
- Collaborate with Safer’s Life Skill Trainer to ensure proper job readiness and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
