We are currently seeking a  Fire Sprinkler Designer  to join our team at our Little Rock , AR ,  office.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, required.

NICET II or state specified certification, preferred.

Experience and License Requirements (Preferred) :

3+ years inspecting fire protection systems required.

1+ years' operating a computer utilizing Microsoft Office and accurately reading blueprints, required.

Must be able to communicate effectively, required.

Experience with Salesforce and ERP systems, preferred.

CAD Experience

Customer Service (optional)

Microsoft Office (optional)

Fire Protection Engineering Technology Gradate (Preferred)

SprinkCAD

SFPE, NSPE and / or NICET Cert

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Reliable transportation, required.

Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Must be able to lift >

50 lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes with working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices and critical components.

Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to Summit and Customers.

Communicate with internal and external customers as well as offsite monitoring companies in a professional manner.

Proper use and operation of tools required to complete the inspection (heat and smoke detector kit, backflow kit, pump equipment)

Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled in a timely manner.

Required to be in an on-call status as required by location to handle emergency service and inspection requests

Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies.

Ensure that all assigned tools are safeguarded and maintained.

Understand and follow SFS Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies and procedures. Participate in weekly Toolbox talks. Inspectors must know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project.

Attend seminars from time to time to stay abreast of changing technology, installation, and testing approaches.

Train inspector trainees in all applicable aspects of fire protection.

Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies.

Physical Demands

Continual use of a computer and computer screens up to a full shift.

50 lbs., sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights.

Ability to safely operate a vehicle in accordance with company standards.

Working Conditions

Frequent local travel. Travel and other locations will vary.

Consistently required to work inside and outside in hot / cold temperatures while standing on hard surfaces.

Occasionally be required to travel, work outside, work in wet conditions and be exposed to hot / cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise.

As appropriate, wear personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies.

Personnel are assigned proper equipment.
