Senior BIM / CAD Coordinator

Position Summary

3D Design and coordination of electrical systems in construction projects for a wide variety of building types including commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in Coordination Meetings (both On-site and Virtual)
  • Attend On-site Co-location sessions as required by specific projects
  • Collaborate with other Team BIM / CAD Coordinators to share workload and best practice
  • Identify and prioritize Coordination Schedule and keep ahead of proposed deadlines
  • Collaborate with Project Management & Electrical field staff and incorporate direction for the purpose of Electrical Coordination.
  • 3D Drafting and Design of ALL Electrical Equipment and Systems
  • Monitor 3D Model for Trade Clashes, resolve conflicts, and update electrical files
  • Review Contract Documents and Submittals associated with Coordinated items
  • Prepare Shop Drawings for Structural Modifications and any other change requests.
  • Identify potential Prefabrication items and Model & Detail for assembly.

Requirements

  • Electrical design experience including knowledge of procedures for production of design development and construction documents.
  • Experience with Electrical panel coordination, lighting and switchgear layouts.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be a positive, self-motivated individual who works well in a collaborative / team atmosphere
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment, without sacrificing quality or accuracy
  • Ability to take and absorb direction and work on your own.
  • Excellent organization and documentation skills, and strong attention to detail

    • Required Experience

    Software : Requires a minimum of 5 year’s experience and demonstrated proficiency designing projects with AutoCAD MEP 2022, Navisworks 2022, Revit MEP 2022, BlueBeam 2020

    Familiarity with Autodesk 360

    Familiarity with Trimble Point Creator

    Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Drafting : Requires a minimum of 5 year’s experience and demonstrated proficiency in drafting; preference is given to experience with Electrical projects, but experience with Mechanical, Plumbing, or Fire Protection Contractors can be considered
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and safety laws
  • Experience as a CAD coordinator in construction, architecture or engineering environment utilizing multiple software platforms
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
