Chief Of Fire Prevention
The State Personnel System is an E-Verify employer. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all activities of the Bureau of Prevention which is primarily responsible for the fire prevention and regulatory activities. The bureau is composed of four sections, operating nine field offices throughout the state, a headquarters office and the Miami-Dade Construction Mining Program. Staff are assigned responsibilities involving the inspections of state-owned and state leased buildings, plans review for new state construction or renovation to any state-owned or leased properties, boiler safety inspections, and regulatory oversite and licensing for five major industries.
Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Knowledge of 633 Florida Statutes.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective fire prevention activities.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the Florida legislative and bill analysis process (Preferred)
- Knowledge of the Florida Administrative Rule process (Preferred)
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
