Commercial Loan Officer
This position is responsible for developing new business through the underwriting, structuring, and closing commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio.
Major duties and responsibilities include acquisition, expansion, and retention of commercial relationships using a proactive calling strategy. Cross-selling ancillary products and services of the bank, analyzing credit history of applicants, negotiating credit terms, developing and maintaining interest rate structure, evaluating potential customer loan requests, and daily review, approval, and disposition of commercial overdrafts.
Additional duties include handling customer complaints, maintaining cleanliness in and around the work station, recommending to supervisor possible methods to improve department, completing all required compliance exams, adhering to all First United policies and procedures, dressing professionally, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Employee specifications include a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred, minimum of three years of experience in commercial banking, extensive knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures, business development experience, exceptional customer service skills, good problem-solving and decision making skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well with customers, willingness to accept additional responsibilities, dependability, and taking initiative in development and completion of projects.
