Summary
Job Summary : Seeking a motivated individual to provide oversight, guidance, leadership, and mentorship to our Health System team. The Chief Operations Officer will oversee daily operations and ensure patient care is compliant with established standards of care. The individual must identify and effectively respond to the needs of the community through policy and procedure development and implementation. This role will provide oversight of staffing, training, planning, compliance, quality improvement activities, maintaining standards of accreditation, and community outreach.
Seeking a strong operational leader and communicator who can quickly build trust and rapport while developing a patient-centered culture consistent with Tulalip Tribes mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure that all program services meet applicable rules and ethical standards.
- Maintain close working relationships with Federal, State, and local health agencies and other organizations and providers concerning matters affecting the health of the community.
- Advocate for the Tribes at the Local, State and Federal levels related to health care issues. Obtain grants for support of essential services.
- Review policies & procedures used in the Health System.
- Competency in change management and performance improvement. Must possess basic knowledge for business, revenue cycle, and healthcare operations.
- Identify and address challenges related to patient care. Implementing improvements to advance patient satisfaction and experience.
- Drive performance & quality by monitoring key performance indicators.
- Inspire, mentor, and empower the Health System team to go above and beyond for patients.
- Oversee, track, and address patient feedback with tact, in a timely manner, and within policy.
- Oversee branding, public relations and marketing to assist with public perception of Health System.
- Ensure reports are completed, reviewed, and provided to appropriate funding agencies.
- Provide progress reports and presentations of projects or business plans.
- Coordinate the activities of a projects team at the direction of the BOD.
- Prepare objectives, specifications, costs, and timelines for projects.
- Make recommendations for contract negotiations with suppliers of materials, goods, and services.
- Adhere to the proper Procurement process and policy.
- Develop an effective team to achieve department goals in line with the Tulalip Tribes Mission, Vision, and Values. Engage, coach, supervise, train, and evaluate assigned employees.
- Develop, manage, and authorize expenditures from assigned budgets.
- Direct participation in the creation of short and long-term operational planning. Include appropriate reference to quality patient care and safety and community service objectives.
- Ensure alignment between the plans and operational and financial objectives and goals.
- Collaborate & provide guidance regarding strategic plan development & implementation.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community representatives, funding agencies and organizations, regulatory bodies, other Tribal Health programs, and educational institutions.
- Create and maintain effective methods of measuring and communicating progress towards and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide direct administrative oversight of professionals within the disciplines of ambulatory medical, dental, vision and behavioral health.
- Provide direct oversight of staff within the non-clinical disciplines of Health System.
- Supports and administers the fair and equitable application of employee disciplinary actions in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Compile appropriate measurement criteria related to patient quality standards, consistent with the requirements and key regulatory agencies and institutions.
- Ensure alignment of the organization's goals and objectives with these standards by assigning and managing appropriately experienced clinical personnel.
- Provide for the establishment and maintenance of appropriate facilities, equipment, supplies, and other resources required to achieve standards.
- Implement and maintain quality improvement programs to measure and evaluate progress towards and achievement of standards.
- Collaborates with Tribal Governments organizations, healthcare industry organizations and the membership in assessing and responding to healthcare needs of the community.
- Operates personal vehicle to drive between various work sites
- Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
