Job Description : Purpose of Position

The Pastor of High School Ministry (HSM) is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of HSM that encourages spiritual transformation in developing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, while addressing the real issues facing youth culture. This includes teaching, leading group gatherings, events, trips, pastoral care for students and families, and equipping volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee a ministry to High School students that encourages spiritual transformation in developing devoted followers of Jesus Christ, creates a safe and inviting atmosphere, and address the real issues facing youth culture.
  • Oversee and lead all HSM related events, programs, and trips.
  • Recruit, lead, and equip an HSM team that intentionally invests in the student’s lives.
  • Envision the future of our HSM and bring concrete solutions to current needs.
  • Direct pastoral care for volunteers, leaders, HSM students and their families.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading a Youth Ministry
  • A servant-leader who loves students, parents, and families.
  • Passion to teach, lead and develop others for ministry.
  • Team player who wants to invest in relationships on staff.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.

    • Education

    Undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, or Youth Ministry
