Job description

Senior Credit Analyst

The Senior Credit Analyst is an expert individual contributor responsible for independently analyzing complex commercial credit relationships, preparing high-quality credit presentations, identifying portfolio risk themes, and serving as a technical credit resource to bankers and analysts. The position applies advanced commercial credit judgment, strong policy discipline, and portfolio perspective to support sound lending decisions, consistent risk-rating practices, audit-ready documentation, and effective credit monitoring for complex or high-impact relationships.

This position is an individual contributor role and does not have direct reports. The position is expected to provide technical guidance, mentoring, and informal coaching to Credit Analysts and other lending partners as appropriate.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanning machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the Associate must be able to sit for long periods of time on a regular basis and is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The associate may occasionally lift or move up to 5 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision.

Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday. Associates are expected to work a regular full-time schedule, with flexibility in start and end times between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, consistent with business and customer needs. This position may occasionally require additional hours, including evenings or weekends.

This position may occasionally require local or regional travel for training, meetings, customer or lender discussions, credit-related due diligence, or professional development activities. Overnight travel is infrequent.

Position requirements include:

  • Six or more years of relevant commercial credit analysis, commercial lending, loan review, credit administration, accounting, finance, or related banking experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex commercial relationships and prepare high-quality credit presentations with well-supported recommendations.
  • Expert working knowledge of loan policy, credit structures, risk ratings, collateral analysis, guarantor analysis, covenant monitoring, credit exceptions, and regulatory or audit expectations.
  • Experience mentoring analysts, strengthening credit memo quality, supporting credit committee materials, or serving as a technical resource preferred.
  • Effective planning and priority setting ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with credit spreading, loan origination, portfolio monitoring, or credit administration systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex credit issues clearly to bankers, credit partners, and senior leaders.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Agribusiness, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
