Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.
This position is a support role for the Risk Management team. The Claims Assistant partners with internal and external stakeholders to aide in the management of claims and insurance matters. The primary responsibility is to support the team's efforts for claims resolution and cost mitigation strategies. This role will regularly interact with internal and external business partners, including legal counsel, insurance representatives, third party claims administrator and other stakeholders regarding claim issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
- Responsible for the intake and triage of claim calls, emails and mail
- Ensure key documents related to claim investigation are provided to Sedgwick adjuster
- Assist WC claim process by making initial follow up call to injured associate
- Assist team in the update and maintenance of the claim team discovery library
- Administrative duties, such as filing, sorting, etc.
- Assist with the coordination and preservation of data for legal holds associated with claims, litigation and investigations
- Assist with claims reports
- Special projects assigned by Director of Risk Management
