Job description

Who We Are:

  • Watkins Distributing is a family-owned and family-operated beverage distribution company that has proudly served communities across Idaho and Montana for four generations.

Job Summary:

  • The Class A CDL Driver handles local delivery within an assigned territory, making sure products reach customers safely, accurately, and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle and equipment.
  • Operate the designated delivery route safely and efficiently while following all DOT regulations and applicable traffic laws.
  • Unload product from trailers using a pallet jack and/or hand truck.
  • Confirm deliveries with store personnel and check in all merchandise upon arrival.
  • Verify order accuracy by checking quantities and obtaining customer signatures.
  • Stock cooler space, shelf space, and promotional displays at each account.
  • Rotate stock according to company freshness and merchandising guidelines.
  • Collect empty keg shells, damaged goods, and incorrectly ordered items for return credit.
  • Gather invoices and complete all required daily route paperwork.
  • Stay in close communication with sales representatives and retail account contacts.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

  • Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record and no major traffic violations.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL along with a valid medical card.
  • Able to safely handle a fully loaded hand truck.
  • Comfortable operating handheld computers and route management devices.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to routinely lift and move beverage cases weighing 20–30 lbs., and lift up to 160 lbs. to waist height.
  • The role requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for long periods.
  • Work is carried out independently while serving multiple retail accounts each day.
  • Must be able to operate delivery vehicles safely across varying weather and road conditions.
