Success Manager
The Success Manager is a direct service champion responsible for implementing a dynamic program experience and building transformative relationships with young adults through Amplify Detroit, an initiative under The Academy Group. The Success Manager is a key position whose primary responsibility is to effectively deliver the Amplify success coaching model during the Foundations through Activation stage, while serving as the co-lead facilitator during the cohort. The Success Manager partners directly with and reports to the AG: Amplify Detroit Program Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in managing the talent recruitment process from marketing to final selection, including outreach, logistics, interviews, events, etc.
- Implement the Amplify barrier assessment to all Talent as they enter the Foundations stage of the program to ensure a personalized and relational transition into Amplify for each talent.
- Partner with the Program Director to ensure that the full day-to-day program model is implemented with fidelity and rigor.
- Provide real-time daily coaching as needed to ensure talent success in day-to-day programming and accomplishment of goals (e.g. punctuality/attendance, certification completion, etc.), including weekly coaching sessions guided by the individualized Amplify Action Plan.
- Build an ecosystem of partnerships in support of talent and integrate programming with trauma-informed supports and career pathways components to continue to build on Amplify's holistic talent-centered model.
- Partner with the Program Director to regularly adapt and refine talent support strategies and resources.
- Design and execute events, workshops, and site visits that enhance participant learning and professional development.
- Partner with other Amplify staff and external consultants (e.g. therapists) as needed to provide a coordinated and streamlined continuum of care.
- Provide timely and effective interventions for young people and their families in emergency/crisis situations as necessary.
- Track all action plan data and progress toward goals, including success coaching related data; utilize data to inform ongoing program adaptations and improvements.
- In close partnership with the Program Director (Detroit) ensure the successful transition from the 3-month Foundations stage to the Activation stage (months 4-12) and ultimately into the AG Alumni Network.
- Identify and secure partnership agreements with local employers willing to provide internships, apprenticeships and employment to Amplify graduates.
- Other cross-program duties as assigned.
Travel requirements include:
- Monthly travel to Chicago for Amplify and Academy Group meetings, retreats, and professional development.
- Occasional national travel (12 times per year) for events and stakeholder engagements.
Required qualifications include:
- Deep, authentic knowledge of Detroit's communities, culture, and ecosystem.
- Proven ability to launch or scale programs, preferably within community, workforce, or youth development settings.
- Exceptional ability to build transformational relationships with young adults ages 2130, especially those from non-traditional backgrounds.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience in partnership cultivation, budget management, and team supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to make data-informed decisions and use technology platforms for program tracking (e.g., Salesforce).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in workforce development, youth empowerment, or community organizing.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and/or reentry support.
- Advanced degree in education, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field.

This position will be based in Detroit with travel to The Academy Group Headquarters up to 2x per month for training, team meetings, etc. The role is hybrid when a cohort is not in session, but is expected to be onsite daily during the Foundations 3-month cohort experience (Mon - Fri 8:30 - 4:30pm). The hybrid schedule during the Activation and Alumni Network stages of the program will be determined by the Senior Director of Programs based on the particular needs and opportunities of the Detroit program.
Compensation and benefits include a competitive salary and a comprehensive medical, vision, dental, and 401 (k) package with employer match. The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. In addition, our team is awarded 80 hours of Wellness Days and can accrue up to 120 hours of vacation per year.
