Job description

Clinic Manager

As a Clinic Manager, you'll lead day-to-day practice management and manage the care team. In partnership with the Lead Physician and Regional leadership team, you'll guide clinical and administrative operations of the multidisciplinary, integrated primary care service, which is focused on achieving high-quality and high-patient engagement.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Manages the care team; interviews / hires / coaches / develops staff; ensures timely performance reviews
  • Onboards / trains new team members
  • Encourages continuing professional education and development to enhance learning and meet licensing expectations
  • Guides / directs team members (nurses, hosts, operations leads, and site-specific care navigators, vendors, etc.) to ensure contracts and services performed meet H-E-B Wellness Primary Care (WPC) expectations
  • Leads day-to-day practice management; partners with Lead Physician and Regional leadership team to guide clinical and administrative operations; focuses on achieving high-quality and high-patient engagement
  • Implements WPC standards of care and operations workflows
  • Manages schedules for efficiency and optimal staff coverage, including PRN talent pools
  • Using WPC patient-centered medical home approach, ensures patient satisfaction and delivery of highest-quality patient care
  • Leads clinic-wide huddles and team meetings; ensures clinic team is kept informed of corporate / client communications and clinical practice updates
  • Manages clinical, financial, administrative client, and corporate data; ensures complete, accurate capturing and reporting
  • Partners with corporate team, Planning and Analysis (P&A), and Regional / Marketing leadership to develop and implement annual clinic goals and operating plans (achieving operating system metrics, practice outcomes, growth targets, population analytics, patient operating performance, and financial metrics); implements / optimizes WPC operating system, ensuring quality and compliance goals and metrics are achieved
  • Owns / ultimately accountable for clinic financial and clinical performance
  • Partners with corporate team, P&A team, and Regional / Marketing leadership to develop and manage clinic budgets; identifies / recommends account growth ideas; partners with corporate team to develop plans to maximize client outreach and increase clinic utilization
  • Identifies / recommends actions to enhance current services; partners with Lead Physician, Medical Director, and Operations leader to develop / implement new services

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • of clinical experience (preferred)
  • of experience staffing and managing teams
  • of experience operating and managing a multi-specialty - multi-provider wellness center
  • equivalent experience
  • Experience delivering multi-site - multi-client health care services at scale
  • Experience in primary care - physical medicine - coaching - and other ancillary services
  • Experience in outpatient care and urgent care
  • Experience using analytics information - measuring - analyzing - and reporting key clinical information to patients - care teams - and client representatives

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Apple and Google-based technology or client technologies (e.g., MSoft or HP)
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced organization skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to apply a strong work ethic, efficiently focused on results and outcomes
  • Ability to stay adaptable to changing priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and autonomously as needed
  • Innovative, energetic; takes initiative

Education:

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or MPH) from a recognized college or university, or equivalent senior-level experience

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Advanced training - certification in management of clinic operations
  • Maintain continuing medical education / certification

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Maintain required continuing medical education / certification
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods
  • Perform duties requiring a full range of body motion, including potentially handling / lifting patients
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
